Inexpensive Accommodations In San Francisco

Published by jodapoet under San Francisco, Travel Edit This

San Francisco is a popular destination all year round. As a result there are hotels, motels, B&B’s all over to accomodate the weary traveler. One of the most desirable and inexpensive spots in the city to find clean, friendly and not overly priced accomodations is out on Lombard Street in the Marina district. There are literally blocks of hotels, motels and inns lining the neighborhood. Here is a sample listing of some nice spots which offer a variety of amenities at lower than the usual rate hotels in San Francisco.

These are just a few of many which are located in the Marina District. This district is perfect for the traveler as it is conducive to our MUNI (municipal railway system) buses which from this area can get you to all the major tourist attractions in a heartbeat. One block down on Chestnut Street is a lively little neighborhood consisting of shops, boutiques and some great little restaurants geared towards making your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Inspiration Path

Published by jodapoet under Nature, San Francisco Edit This

Photo of ocean beach near the cliff house taken during one of my afternoon walks.
Ocean beach which is located along the Pacific Ocean is my chosen path of inspiration.  It is right near my home along the west coastside of San Francisco.  I walk along the beach up to the cliff house and back.  It offers stunning views of the pacific ocean especially as the sun sets and dusk awakens.  Fog is the norm during morning hours yet as noon approaches the fog lifts like a veil revealing virgin beauty.  Views from the cliff house bar and restaurants are magical as you watch the swinging and swaying of the ocean waves tantalizing yet serene.  Below is a poem I wrote about my daily walks along the beach.

Inspiration Path

Walking along

ocean beach

mist bathes me

as salt tears

on feather pillows

mumble affirmations

quietly.

A distant foghorn

echoes resounding waves

as a dull bass

strums undertones

and awakens daydreams

skimming stones

softly.

Saltwater cotton

iridescent seafoam

clash against

high tide

forming footprints

on golden sands

gently.

Quietly I walk

sofly I tread

gently in solitude
