Waterfront Life

Published by jodapoet at 10:09 am under Leisure, San Francisco, Travel Edit This

Adjacent to Pier 39 and the aquarium by the bay you’ll find many a sailboat, fishing boat and cruiser docked with some of their owners making a living from fishing and cruising.  There is literally a sea of vessels docked along the bay waterfront.  Walking along the waterfront you would think you were in a sleepy seaside community until you turn left and view the high rise apartment and office buildings.  There is nothing more invigorating than walking in this area early in the morning when the fog is so thick that you barely recognize the Golden Gate and the pier is awakening to the occasional foghorn.  The boats dancing to the waves and the seagulls taking their morning flight.  You can hear only seabirds and your own thoughts.  The sun peaks through the clouds and the sea mist kisses your cheek and you know intuitively this is paradise if only for that moment.
