It’s just been confirmed, head coach Mike Nolan of the SF 49ers has been fired and it comes as no surprise to me. He’s been there 4 seasons and has an 18-37 record. All I can say is It’s About Time - I’m a happy camper. It’s also been reported that Mike Singletary, I hope I spelled that correctly, is the #1 choice to replace Nolan which I personally think is fantastic. Maybe we can start winning some games again. Nolan made some of the most ridiculous calls I had ever seen. It was almost like he was trying to lose most of the time. I’m excited and thrilled!

The Ferry Building clocktower is located at the foot of Market Street along the embarcadero. It was built in the l930’s and was modeled after a tower in Spain. It’s predecessor was made of wood and obviously crushed during the 1906 earthquake. This current one now gracing the port of San Francisco had only minor damage after the Loma Prieta 1989 quake and was repaired and now stands proud along the waterfront. You can see it from as far as the Castro district. I was at a performance in the Castro a couple of weeks ago and was able to see the tower from 18th and Castro. I never really noticed it before.
The tower sits atop the ferry building which houses offices and retail shops. On every Tuesday and Saturday the local farmers set up shop outside and sell their delicacies. Everyday, weather permitting there are street artists showing there wares as well.
This is a very popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The ferries to Sausalito, Marin and other destinations are located within this area. It’s an architectural delight to really look and study this structure. On the south/back end of the tower is the port of San Francisco sign which can be seen miles away.
The photo above I took during the late morning while on my way to Pier 39.
