Grey Matter Technical Services
Okay, so my old computer was having a rough time of it. The hard drive was down to about 1 GB out of an original 4 GB and the computer was as slow as a turtle, as per a previous post on this blog. I had to do something so I decided to check out the tried and true Craigslist to find either a desktop or laptop. I like ads that will list every specification and give you a detailed description of the product. So, finally I found an ad that did exactly that. Plus, it was what I wanted and the person lived in my neighborhood. I emailed him and got things rolling.
He asked what I needed as far as programs on the computer and also let me know he would help set it up for me. Long story short he brought my new desktop computer over, set it up, showed me different things that I didn’t even know how to use, suggested different programs and add ons and even offered to come by at a later time and help show me how to use them. I have Google Earth which I couldn’t even download on my old computer. This computer is fast and is able to free up so much time for me. Example: When I use Entrecard it takes a quarter of the time is used to take to drop and visit sites. The sites are quick to load which as you all know makes it so much easier to work.
This guy, Rich Auslander knows everything! Seriously, there wasn’t a question I asked that he could not answer. He was professional, friendly and most important knew his stuff. He has his own business called Grey Matter Technical Services and is located here in San Francisco. You can go to http://www.greymattersf.com which is a link to his Yelp page or email him at pcservice@pacbell.net
I’ve dealt with many other pc guys in the neighborhood and beyond and believe me this guy is THE BEST! His prices? Fantastic!

Craiglist is great. With a bit of common sense and luck, you can find all sorts of things and meet great people along the way. I am glad you had such a good experience.

Well Poo….of course, I just have to live in Ohio!!
So what was the general price range for your new pc, and if you care to share, what kinds of programs did you have installed? Did he transfer programs and files from your old puter, as well?
Nosy, inquiring, puter shoppers want to know!!
As far as price let’s just say it was much cheaper than your average store. I have as I mentioned, Google earth, Itunes, Vlan, Adobe and so many more I’m too tired too list. He offered to transfer the files but I told him it wasn’t necessary I had everything backed up. Well, you can still email him if you have a ? or need some advice
Thanks for commenting.
