Pier 39 Christmas Tree
I had fully intended to get to the tree lighting ceremonies the day after Thanksgiving at Ghirardelli Square and Union Square to get on the spot video of the actual lighting’s. However since I spent Thanksgiving with friends at Pier 39 and was there late I was way too tired to get to any of the lighting’s the next day. So, these photos which I shot on Thanksgiving at Pier 39 will have to do. The tree is so tall that if you stand there and look up at the top, you will literally fall over. I wanted to get a shot of the top of the tree with the clouds in the background. The tree is decorated with red, gold and silver ornaments and cute snowmen of which one of these days I’m going to grab one when no one is looking, they are so cute. This shot above was taken right around sunset.

The one above was taken at Sunset. You can see the Pier 39 flags in the background blowing in the cool breeze.

The above was taken at night. It’s kind of surreal looking with the stark dark background but it is a tourist’s delight getting photos in front of the tree. Enjoy!
