Cop Shoots 22 Year Old And Kills Him
When I heard this story and saw the video for myself I was angry, appalled and disgusted. The video is very disturbing to watch.
22 year old Grant was coming home on BART from celebrating NYE in San Francisco. Apparently a fight ensued on the BART train with a dozen or so men. When the train stopped at the Fruitvale station, the BART police were called to try and get things under control. As seen in the video the police had a few men on the ground including Grant who was lying on his stomach. He was allegedly pleading for his friends to calm down and for the police not to taser him as he had a 4 year old daughter. Long story short, as you will see in the video, one of the cops blatantly without any regard shoots him in the back and kills him. They then for some unknown reason handcuff him until someone mentioned that the media was on the way then they were told to take the cuffs off of Grant.
The cop has yet to be interviewed and talk with authorities. He is supposedly in seclusion and on paid administrative leave. Excuse my language here but what the hell is going on? He kills someone for no reason and isn’t even interviewed by the police? Are they trying to come up with some story that will make the victim look like he had to be shot in the back? That cop should be arrested and in jail now. He should not be left to have his job so that he can just go randomly shooting people at will.
The family has filed a $25 million dollar lawsuit which is all fine and good however that murdering cop needs to pay. There are no excuses here at all. For more information and to see the video you can click here.
I’m not going to watch the video… just your description of what’s on it is enough to make me sick. Shooting a helpless person in the back, then handcuffing him??!! Yeahhhh, very up-and-up,,, not! I totally agree, the officer should be arrested, not on administrative leave. Especially if it’s all caught on tape and is obvious that what happened was totally against what a police officer should be doing.
I hope justice will be served.
Hi, I’m not morbid or anything, But I would like to see the video just to form my own opinion. Did you remove it for some reason?? I can’t seem to find it. This is appalling that this officer is on PAID administrative leave. that is so wrong when it sounds like it is apparent that Grant was shot without cause.
lynne - Just found out last night that the cop hired a lawyer a couple of hours after the shooting so that’s why he’s not talking. It’s disgusting.
