Breaking News - Cop Arrested in BART Shooting

Published by jodapoet at 11:10 pm under News, San Francisco Edit This

The 27 year old cop who shot and killed Oscar Grant on New Year’s day was arrested in Douglas County, Nevada which is located near Zephyr Cove.  He was arrested at 7:00 pm on a homicide warrant and will be arraigned in Nevada tomorrow morning.  According to authorities he has the right to fight extradition to California.  This news was confirmed by the Alameda County Sheriff’s office.

Burris who is the attorney for the family was pleased with the quick arrest and stated that the family can now begin to grieve.

I for one am happy about the news though surprised it happened so quickly.  It’s good to see justice done.

I will keep updating as it is warranted.

that’s good news… but I guess he’s got a real good lawyer (gnashing teeth!) if he was out of state and is able to fight extradition to California. Sure, innocent until proven guilty is the way to go, but pulling antics like this stinks of guilt (and you can’t deny the power of the videos of the incident!).

Lynne - Exactly, the videos tell the whole story. When you see evidence like that it’s difficult to take the innocent until proven guilty stance.

Dori - Thank you for reading and commenting.
