San Francisco American Rose Society
The Rose Garden in Golden Gate Park is a part of the San Francisco American Rose Society. It is located between JFK drive and Funston Avenue. It is active in the care and maintenance of the rose garden and also offers tours and classes.
The garden consists of sixty rose beds which are situated in two rows of rectangular beds. There are also fences around the area which house the climbing roses. There are a myriad of rose species in every delicate color and scent. The time to visit is during the Summer and early fall. The garden is open from 6 am to 10 pm.

The area is amongst other attractions to include the DeYoung Museum, The California Academy of Sciences, The Japanese Tea Garden and The Botanical Gardens.
If you are visiting San Francisco it is very easy to get there without a car or taxi. Many bus lines are available from all over the city to accommodate this area. If you have any questions about the area or how to get there please feel free to contact me.
The rose garden is another place I frequent. It serves as a small reminder that the beauty of nature can be found everywhere, including right in the middle of a large city. The colors are so vividly simple and the scents so uniquely alluring that you will experience a sense of awe from the beauty the gardens hold. I take advantage of the garden as often as possible. It is free and a beautiful place to visit.
