A Walk Through The Woods At The Botanical Gardens In San Francisco
The Botanical Gardens in San Francisco is getting a whole new look. Work is being done throughout the area to make the gardens more “people friendly.” They are re-paving some of the paths, creating new paths and building a wooden footbridge around the pond area. Needless to say many of the walkways were closed off for construction. It evidently will be another few weeks before all is complete.
I have my favorite spots within the gardens of which I frequent however due to the overhaul I was not able to get around as I normally do. So, I took a journey around the outside perimeter of the gardens where the woods like atmosphere makes it seem as though you are actually walking through the woods. I normally don’t visit this spot very often though I will in the future.
The greenery, the leaves, the tall trees and the reflection of the sunlight through the trees was just gorgeous. You could hear the birds’ song through the breeze and rustling leaves offering a crisp and refreshing feel. I walked in awe of this inspiring venue.
The contrast between the dark and light of the sun shadows made for some interesting foot paths. The scenery looked like abstract paintings. The colors mirrored darkness and light with vivid reflections. It was also a clear day so blue skies added to the afternoon splendor. I felt as though I was being hugged by Mother Nature. I didn’t want to leave but unfortunately had to get home. After spending time in the gardens I am always refreshed and inspired. I will have more for you tomorrow.

The weather’s been so beautiful!
I love walking around the outer perimiter in the Gardens. Did you go through the miniature Redwood Forest?
Nice photos and descriptions (as always)!
Msterri - yes I did. Just gorgeous. I normally don’t go there so this was a real treat. Of course I took dozens of photos so I’ll be posting the next few days on the gardens
