Japanese Garden Pond
The San Francisco Botanical Gardens is home to the Japanese moon garden and ponds. The garden pond is surrounded with Japanese maple trees and camelias with a host of various rock formations and plants. I have taken dozens of photos of this garden over the years and can never get enough. Since we have had a somewhat dry Winter in San Francisco, the water though flowing, is at a minimum. However it is just enough to make for beautiful reflections of the sky through the maple trees.
The runoff from the pond normally flows through a small gateway below a stone filled path and into the Moon viewing pond. It is trickling it’s way down slowly but surely. Just a little more rain and it will be back to normal very soon. I am always entranced by the beauty and serenity of this garden. While winding my way there the other day I heard this beautiful flute music of which I followed to the garden. There was young guy sitting by the pond on the bench playing his flute which made for a perfect afternoon. I felt as though I was in an ancient Asian garden in a foreign land. It was a very inspiring and mystical experience.
This garden is magical and can take you to places so peaceful and tranquil that you will never want to leave.

This is one of my favorite spots!
P.S. I just left you a comment (on one of your older posts) about the public meeting on Monday, but I see you already beat me to the punch and have a new post up about it!
Ratty - It was the perfect accompaniment.
msterri - Thanks, I’m not happy that I have to work on Monday from 5 to 8 so I’ll miss it. I wanted to get out there. Are you going?
I probably will go. I’ll let you know what happens there.
msterri - Thanks a bunch…
